The solution
Lasercroft’s sales and technical team consulted with Tyremen to supply a new flooring solution for this 200m2 vehicle servicing centre.
Initial discussions with the client showed an interest in a high-build coating solution. Following discussion on the options available, we recommended the Ucrete MF for its high durability, lasting ten times longer than high-build coating solutions. Ucrete MF would also provide a good visual solution for this professional working environment.
Implementation
Our implementation started by dealing with the clients’ rough tamped concrete substrate. We started by scabbling and grinding off their existing solution to clean the slap, remove high spots and provide a suitable base for the new flooring system.
Small defects and imperfections were repaired, so we were guaranteed a smooth flat substrate free from any areas where the self-levelling compound could run into. Small cracks were then chased out, cleaned, and thoroughly vacuumed ready for the application of re-enforced pro mesh. We then bedded the mesh in place with a skim of thixo modified epoxy resin to bring a ‘belt and braces’ factor to the new system.
4mm Ucrete MF was laid and left to cure over the weekend. Finishing off with expansion joints and yellow demarcation to the MOT bay, the client was over the moon with his finished floor.
The new flooring provides the following benefits to the customer:
