The Customer
Brass Castle Brewery is an independent Yorkshire brewery awarded as Britain’s best vegan and gluten-free craft beer. Supported by an expert team, they are fast-growing creating and evolving their range of beers, which reach far and wide. Lasercroft was invited back to Brass Castle to review their expansion plans, having laid their brewery floor 8 years ago.
The Solution
After reviewing their expansion plans and the wear and tear to the existing flooring, we recommended new stainless drainage to be installed alongside a Pumadur HF @ 9mm thick. Pumadur HF is a heavy-duty polyurethane screed popular with the brewing industry for its longevity, heat resistance, durability and 40+ year track record supporting the sector.
Implementation
Following the preparation of the area, we installed bespoke stainless drainage and access covers before laying ‘fast track’ Ardex A38 screeds to falls to allow the water to run to the drains. Following a 48 hour curing period, the new screeds were mechanically prepared, primed and overlaid with Pumadur HF @ 9mm thick. This thickness allows for spillages and discharge up to 120 degrees centigrade.
We also installed perimeter coving and flexible movement joints, which are typically required with these types of installations. Joints were installed around all stainless channels to form a hygienic junction and cope with any differential movement.
