Scotton Construction is one of the leading construction companies in Lincolnshire, Yorkshire, and the East Midlands, and it has the capacity to take on projects of all shapes and sizes.
They have extensive experience with design and build, turnkey packages including all types of foundations, ground beams and reinforced concrete, civil engineering and building services and refurbishment of existing facilities.
The solution
Scotton Construction invited Lasercroft to propose a solution for the roll-change area at British Steel. Their existing flooring and subfloor were failing due to overuse in this busy, heavy-duty area subject to extremely heavy loads.
Implementation
Failing toppings were removed, exposing the substandard infilling that had been done previously. This was removed and replaced with a fast-curing polyurethane screed.
The full area was then mechanically prepared to remove all contamination and provide a key. Pumaprime OCS, an oil-tolerant primer, was then applied, which is ideal for this oily steel manufacturing environment.
The area was then scratch-coated with polyurethane resin before being applied with PumaDur HF from ResDev. Pumadur HF is a water-dispersed, heavy-duty polyurethane floor screed with a textured surface and matt finish. It is suitable for heavy-traffic areas such as manufacturing and plant vehicles.
Finally, Ucrete RG was applied to the existing gully to provide an oil-resistant lining.
