The customer

Wold Top Brewery was founded in 2003 by farmers Tom and Gill, who were looking for ways to diversify their family farm. A dedicated team supports them and they have won awards for their beer recognising them for their environmental focus. Lasercroft was invited to review failing flooring in their bottling area.

The solution

After reviewing the area, it was apparent the current flooring was not fit for purpose for this wet bottling line area. Controlling of water/effluent was an issue and required addressing. We recommended a solution utilising Laserbulk polyurethane resin mortar and the FeRFA Type 8 heavy-duty Pumadur HF at 6mm.

Implementation

Following the preparation of the flooring, a bespoke 16-meter channel was installed prior to laying the flooring. Whilst the area wasn’t screeded to falls, levels were altered to reduce ponding around the perimeter walls. This was done using Laserbulk polyurethane resin mortar which can be overlaid within 24 hours to keep down time to a minimum.

We then laid the 6mm Pumadur HF finish before finally cutting and installing flexible joints against the new channel to complete the installation.
