The Customer
Baker & Baker is a European baking manufacturer with sites across seven countries and 2,500 employees. They manufacture a range of high-quality, own-label and branded bakery products to suit their customers across Europe. Lasercroft was appointed to provide support with replacing their cafeteria flooring.
The Solution
After reviewing the factory cafeteria, we identified that the current vinyl flooring had split and de-bonded from the sub-floor. We also identified an issue in that the flooring composition comprised different substrates. The sub-floor was half plywood and half concrete, ruling out several resin flooring options. We recommended the Sika Comfortfloor PS-27 as meeting the criteria. As the area is required to cope with heavy footfall from the site’s high number of employees, a durable and long-lasting solution was required.
Implementation
Sika Comfortfloor PS-27 is a flexible and tough solution that allows for crack bridging, is good for mechanical and abrasion resistance, and is easy to clean and maintain.
The process began with us removing the old flooring and applying a sub-floor primer. The next stage was applying the Sika Comfortfloor body coat with new coving. This was followed by the final sealing.
The new flooring provides the following benefits to the customer:
