York Hospital is a teaching hospital based in York and managed by York and Scarborough Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.
The solution
Lasercroft was contracted by Hull building firm Hobson and Porter to install a new resin flooring solution, complete with sub-floor and coving works in the sterilisation area of York Hospital. The area was used to sterilise endoscopes before use on patients, and their architects specified hygiene as critical (GSS Architecture Harrogate).
Implementation
The Mastertop 1327 system was recommended as an attractive, hard-wearing solution with the added benefits of being easy to clean and supporting no bacterial ingress due to its seamless nature. Mastertop 1327 is chemically resistant but has the added advantage of being comfortable and supportive for the operatives engaged in the laboratory and reducing significantly sound transfer. Furthermore, its life expectancy will easily exceed 10 years.
The system is part of the Mastertop 1300 series of flexible, flow-applied polyurethane resin systems (FeRFA Type 5), which are excellent alternatives to traditional vinyl systems, providing more hygienic, longer-lasting flooring solutions.
The new flooring provides the following benefits to the customer:
