The customer
Motor Depot was first established as a car retailer in Hull in 2002. Over the years, they have expanded and evolved into the well-known Carsupermarket brand with multiple sites across the UK.
The solution
Lasercroft was invited to recommend a flooring solution for their car supermarket and preparation area in Barnsley. Following a consultation, Altrotect Plus was selected for use across the 6000m2 space.
Initially, the client simply wanted the floors dustproofing, but ultimately, the benefits of a slip-resistant epoxy coating made it the obvious solution. The results justified the decision, with the area benefitting from a bright, light-reflective finish, which improves the safety of both customers and employees.
Implementation
The installation involved shot blasting the power-floated concrete to clean and profile the slab. Minor imperfections were repaired before the application of the Altro two-coat epoxy system.
The finish has a light texture produced by adding a fine micaceous mineral to the uncured epoxy before application.
