The customer
NSK products and solutions manufacture and distribute high-precision roller bearings and ball bearings across various industries and the automotive sector. They are a global organisation with locations around Europe.
The solution
Having carried out numerous smaller jobs for NSK, Lasercroft was contracted to provide a smooth floor finish in their new despatch warehouse. We identified Ucrete MF as hard-wearing but with a smooth finish to improve conditions for their forklift truck operators.
Implementation
As part of the implementation, we shot-blasted 3,000m2 trucking aisles and walkways before applying Ucrete MF.
Following the first application, we returned to install walkways, zebra crossings and forklift charging areas to comply with a worldwide NSK Health and Safety initiative. This initiative was introduced to eradicate unwanted interaction between forklift traffic and pedestrians, improving safety.
We subsequently refurbished an adjacent area using the same products. The slab in this area was badly cracked, so before applying the floor finishes, the area was scrimmed using fibreglass mesh bedded into a polyurethane resin primer layer.
