Lasercroft is delighted to have pledged its commitment to arts and culture by signing up to the pioneering Creative Charter.
The Hull and East Yorkshire Creative Charter is thought to be the first of its kind in the UK, linking businesses and other organisations to the power of cultural creativity.
Arts and culture contribute over £35 million to the economy of Hull and East Yorkshire, uniting communities across more than 250 venues throughout the region.
The Creative Charter seeks to enhance this and offer a long-term uplift to the region’s vital culture and arts sector, which was invigorated by Hull’s designation as UK City of Culture in 2017 but has faced challenges from the pandemic and economic pressures in recent years.
HEY Creative Chief Officer Max May said:
“Collaborating with the creative sector can spark fresh ideas, unlock growth opportunities, and change the way companies approach challenges. We’re fortunate to have a rich and varied cultural scene across the region and the Creative Charter opens up opportunities for businesses and other organisations to tap into it.”
The Creative Charter invites businesses and organisations to commit to four pledges.
Businesses are encouraged to "unite," connect with arts and culture organisations and freelancers, and “advocate” for the creative sector in Hull and East Yorkshire.
The third pledge, “grow”, encourages businesses to assist the arts sector in thriving by utilising creative organisations whenever possible and providing them with financial support.
The fourth and final pledge is to "include," which urges businesses to use their collective voice to foster a fairer and more inclusive future for everyone in the region.
Lasercroft will support the charter by showcasing local artwork in our offices and celebrating culture on our website and social media channels.
