Following on from being interviewed myself as part of their Business Lockdown Podcast I was challenged by hosts James & Phil, the creatives behind PINQ, to get out of my comfort zone & have a go myself.
Sam Teale, head brewer at Brass Castle Brewery, had just been on the receiving end of our services & agreed to answer some questions & generally have a natter about their brewery, beer & lockdown experience.
The Malton based brewery appear to have grown themselves an impressive fan base with their distinctive beers. One insight gained from the interview was how Sam & his team use their own unique yeast culture, which has to be kept alive & healthy by constantly brewing.
This meant full shutdown was never going to be on the cards. Although they did briefly step down production, they soon saw that although cask sales had stopped, their recently installed canning line was about to get extremely busy!
